This application is designed for Malaysians to send emergency request for cases specifically related to Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM).SaveME 999 POLIS application utilizes the internet broadband to transmit the text messages.
In addition, it also uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) in smart phones to identify the location of the user.
Users can activate the application by pressing the ‘SaveME 999 POLIS’ icon on the smart phone.
The GPS address and the sender’s details such as name, telephone number, type of emergency and registered address of the sender will be transmitted automatically to MERS 999 Response Center(MERS 999 RC).
Additional information about the incident and location detail can be added in the message.
This information will assist PDRM to send the required help fast and accurate.There is a ‘Preset Location’ function to this application which enables the user to add the addresses of their familiar places such as home, office, parent’s house or any other important place.
If an emergency situation occurs at one of the Preset Location, user can just quickly choose the location from the preset list and send the emergency request.
